Enable the feature
An administrator can enable this feature by going to Company Settings → General and enabling the toggle Referee submission requests can have a minimum acceptable count.
Once the setting has been enabled, you can specify the minimum number of referees when creating a reference request.
How it works
Start by creating a project as usual. Under Communication with candidates, you can specify the minimum number of referees you will accept.
The number of referees you request will still be communicated to the candidate.
Add a candidate and send the reference request. When the candidate opens the link, they will be asked to enter their referees.
Once the candidate has entered the minimum number of referees, they can choose whether they want to add more referees or finish.
For example, if you have requested 3 referees and set the minimum acceptable number to 2, the candidate can choose to either add the third referee or finish the process after submitting two.
If the candidate wants to add more referees, they can click I want to add more. If they have provided all the referees they want to submit, they can click I'm done.
The remaining reference request will then be removed. For example, if the candidate was asked to provide 3 referees but submitted only 2, you will see the 2 submitted referees in Refapp, while the third, unanswered reference request will be removed.
This means that once the 2 submitted referees have responded, the candidate can be marked as complete. If the remaining reference request were still active, the candidate would not be considered complete until that request had also been answered.
